A striking Victorian oval plaque brooch, beautifully engraved with two swallow birds in flight, crafted in silver with a pin and "C" catch. The swallow was a popular motif in Victorian jewellery as it symbolised romance and distance - swallow pieces were often given by loved ones when departing on a journey.
This piece is well made and weighs a solid 10.8 grams.

CONDITION
In good antique condition, with some surface wear and patina commensurate with age. The pin and catch function perfectly.
