An exquisite brooch from the late Victorian period featuring a swallow swooping across a crescent moon, both the bird and the moon set with white paste stones, all mounted in sterling silver. The swallow has beautiful etched detailing to the head, and a red eye. A stunning antique piece in excellent condition.

The swallow was a sentimental symbol during the 19th and 20th century, often used in jewellery to represent love and loyalty. The crescent moon represented transition and new beginnings.
