Antique 18ct Gold & Platinum Two Stone Diamond Ring

• Circa 1910, later inscribed
• Stamped "18CT PLAT"
• Dimensions of head = 9.9mm (L) x 4.7mm (W)
• Finger size = O (UK) or 7 (US)
• Weight = 1.9 grams approx.

A charming Edwardian era ring featuring two old-cut diamonds mounted side by side in star-shaped settings, the top of the ring crafted in platinum upon an 18ct yellow gold shank. The use of platinum to set stones into is due to the hardness and durability of the metal - there's no better!
Inside the shank a sweet inscription has been engraved: the initials "J.H - M.M.E" and then a date "5.8.46". Whilst this inscription dates to the 1940's, the ring is undoubtedly earlier - perhaps this ring was passed down in the family, and the J.H wished to give it to his beloved. A lovely bit of history!
